Citizen Scientist Program
Do you love being in nature, watching the changes, and recording your findings for others to use in a beneficial way? Become a Citizen Scientist! We offer quarterly trainings to give you all the information you need to help us inventory our heritage oaks. We collect basic data on our oldest and largest trees so we can make informed decisions about their care. Our goal is to participate in the landscape so the relationship we have with our oaks supports our ability to care for them for a long time, and informs how we plant new successors to keep the urban woodland healthy. Our data is logged into our very own app so you can collect it and make it available to others!
Community Oak Steward
Do you know someone planting oak trees? Nominate your neighbors when you know someone who is planting and growing the next generation of heritage oaks. Our volunteers can’t be everywhere so we rely on our greater community to help us celebrate when someone is planting more oaks. If you’d like to recognize someone for being a supporter of our Oak Nation, please nominate them for our Certificate of Appreciation and we will let them know how important they are!
Tree Friends YouTube Channel
We’re looking for local Tree Friends who have a favorite oak or other heritage tree that they would like to share. We’ll come to record a short video that will be aired on our YouTube channel. Follow our YouTube channel for inspiration and beauty as we take field trips to visit our favorite trees!
